Brodowin’s partner – Beutelsbacher –
In 1936 the Beutelsbacher Fruchtsaftkelterei was founded in Weinstadt-Beutelsbach by the brothers Christian and Wilhelm Maier, who both come from a family of wine and fruit growers. The name BEUTELSBACHER has stood for quality and a sense of responsibility for over 80 years. With their work they are committed to the well-being of nature, the environment and people.
The careful selection of their growers and suppliers gives them the opportunity to manufacture extraordinary products.
The best ingredients
Most of the fruit and vegetables for their juices come from German and European organic and Demeter farmers. Tropical fruits are usually processed freshly harvested in the country of origin into not-from-concentrate juice, which is then transported to Weinstadt to the location of the Beutelsbacher.
Demeter vegetables from solid seeds
All of their Demeter vegetable juices and Demeter mixed vegetable juices are made from solid seeds. Seeds that can pass on the same properties in the second generation are referred to as “seed-proof”. Organic farming requires seeds as a livelihood that can reproduce without restriction, are ecologically controlled and do not come from genetically modified seeds. This is the only way to ensure the independence of organic farmers from seed manufacturers.
The Demeter Bund has therefore drawn up a guideline for biodynamic cultivation that excludes vegetable varieties that have emerged from cell fusion techniques. The biodynamic seeds are certified by Demeter. Various initiatives for the breeding of solid seeds were also founded. Not only do we work holistically and without genetic engineering, but research is also carried out into the preservation and further development of old grain and vegetable varieties according to the following criteria:
• Taste
• Harmony in growth and shape
• Plant health and resistance (disease tolerance)
• Vigor of the plants (vitality)
• Maturity
• Food quality
• Adaptability to the location.
The preservation and breeding of non-seed varieties preserves biodiversity. Solid seeds can be further developed by the farmers themselves and adapted to regional site conditions. Solid seeds tend to grow more slowly. This favors the development of an intense aroma.
High quality
Beutelsbacher processes pome fruit (apples, pears, quinces) and special types of berries and vegetables in Weinstadt. All fruits, berries and vegetables are washed with drinking water and checked for their degree of ripeness. With the help of mills and presses, a naturally cloudy not-from-concentrate juice is obtained.
Environmentally friendly production
The entire production process is subject to the stringent requirements of the Beutelsbacher company with regard to energy-saving techniques and regenerable or recyclable materials. The rinsing solution is regenerated and reused. Screw caps, jars and labels are recycled. We have been working with Beutelsbacher for more than 20 years and have our apple and beetroot juice produced there. When developing the product a few years ago, a lot of time was taken to fine-tune the fruit proportions. The result is a pleasantly sweet but classic beetroot-tasting mix in a ratio of 80:20 (apple-beetroot)
– of course in Demeter quality!
