Company structure

In total, more than 170 permanent employees work for Ökodorf Brodowin, of which about 50% are women. More than half of our employees live in Brodowin or in neighbouring villages. In season, up to 25 temporary workers from the region support the staff with extra help. More than 100 jobs have been created in recent years. Young people and students use the farm for training and practical purposes in the dairy and other agricultural areas.
We are increasingly active in driving youth environmental education and intensifying the relationship between the youth and nature. Every year about 40 pupils from the Berlin Waldorf School complete an agricultural internship with us. In co-operation with the University of Applied Sciences in Eberswalde and the Faculty of Agriculture and Horticulture at the Humboldt University of Berlin, we offer students the opportunity to finish their Master’s and Bachelor’s theses as well as completing internships.
However, in addition to our focus on young people; we also create jobs for the elderly and people with disabilities. With only few opportunities in this particular area, we aim to promote diversity as much as possible in the region. Our goal is to produce high-quality, ecological products for us and our customers, in harmony with nature.

The Ökodorf Brodowin Gisela und Werner Upmeier Foundation, set up by us, allows us to make important contributions to nature conservation, the environment and social affairs in parallel to our operations. more…
